2008-4-25

MISC, MOL, NYK, OOCL and Pacific International Lines (PIL), plan to combine their joint NZX1 and NZX2 services into one upgraded loop, called the New Zealand-Southeast Asia (NZS) service.

The upgraded service, which is expected to begin in early June 2008, has been amended to offer better service quality with coverage of five ports in New Zealand plus Brisbane, Australia, a statement issued by NYK said.

The service will deploy five 2,800-TEU vessels, two of which will be provided by PIL, and one each from MOL, NYK and OOCL.

The port rotation for the weekly NZS service will be Singapore, Port Kelang, Brisbane, Auckland, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga, Brisbane and back to Singapore.
