Russian journalist killed in Iraq: report

A Russian journalist has been killed in Iraq when a U.S. convoy were attacked by a ground bomb, the Itar-Tass news agency reported on Monday.

The blast occurred in the province of Diyala, northeast of Baghdad, on Sunday, where the photographer of PhotoXPress Dmitry Chebotaryov was killed, Itar-Tass cited an unnamed source as saying. And it noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry is checking the reports.

The victim was reportedly accompanied by six American soldiers, who were also killed by the roadside bomb.
