Oregon’s Port of Portland reported container traffic totaled 13,934 20-foot-equivalent units in June, rising 21.5 percent year-over-year from 11,473 TEUs in June 2012, and 7.1 percent month-to-month from 13,014 TEUs in May 2013.
Of the June volume, export containers totaled 7,817 TEUs, up 25.3 percent year-over-year, while import containers totaled 6,117 TEUs, up 16.9 percent.
Year-to-date, the port handled 89,394 TEUs. Outbound containers totaled 48,883 TEUs and inbound containers reached 40,511 TEUs.
