Containerships switches to Sheerness

2010-2-8

Shortsea operator Containerships is quitting the Essex port of Tilbury in favour of Sheerness on the opposite side of the Thames.

The Finnish operator makes the switch of all its southern UK vessel calls, which include services to and from the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean, today.

Containerships said: "The size and number of vessels calling at Tilbury have been increasing, and this switch will provide us with more operational flexibility and faster turnaround times."

"Containerships has taken all necessary action to enable a seamless transition, and discussions with our customers are taking place to answer any questions."
