2009-1-15

Mitsui OSK Lines has opened its own terminal in the US port of Jacksonville, Florida, that will be operated by the Japanese carrier¡¯s wholly owned subsidiary, TraPac.

¡°The new terminal will improve MOL¡¯s liner service quality with Jacksonville as a hub for the US East Coast,¡± said MOL general manager, liner division TK Konishi.

MOL said in a statement that Jacksonville was an ideal location for container transport with fully developed railway and road networks.

Many major logistics and warehouse facilities are located in the surrounding area, and the port can expect further growth as a logistics center for the US East Coast.

The Dames Point Zone terminal has a total area of 65ha and a quay length of 730m.
