Lufthansa continues Leipzig investment

WITH a freighter flight to Singapore, Lufthansa Cargo has officially inaugurated its flight operations to and from Leipzig/Halle.

The airline also announced that it will build a new logistics centre at Leipzig/Halle Airport by spring 2009.

With 21 weekly frequencies through its joint venture with DHL Express, Lufthansa Cargo now links the European continent with logistics centres in Asia and the USA.

Carsten Spohr, chief executive officer of Lufthansa Cargo said: ^Leipzig will thus become the most important freighter location for Lufthansa Cargo after Frankfurt am Main. ̄
