Hactl cargo up 0.4pc in January as exports, transshipments fall

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has reported that it handled 192,228 tonnes of cargo in January, an increase of 0.4 per cent compared to the same month a year ago.

Within this total, exports contributed 107,205 tonnes, down 0.7 per cent year on year, while imports rose 5.6 per cent to 54,437 tonnes.

The transshipment sector suffered a 4.3 per cent year-on-year decline in January, with a total of 30,586 tonnes of transshipment cargo being handled, a company statement said.
