POSTED: 1:17 p.m. EDT, June 13,2007
Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili met here with a delegation of the United States President Committee on Arts and Humanity led by its president Adair Margo.

Chen expressed her welcome to the delegation, noting that the cultural relations are an important component of the national relations between the two countries.

China and the United States have established active interactions in the cultural fields in recent years, Chen said.

Margo said she would continue her work to step up the U.S.-China cultural relations in an effort to expand mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
