2013-3-20

"K" Line is planning to add new "ultra-large container vessels" to its fleet as replacements for existing ships.

The ocean carrier said it anticipates receiving five 13,870-TEU container ships from Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in the spring and summer of 2015. Each ship will be approximately 366 meters long.

"K"Line said the new vessels will be eco-friendly and are anticipated to improve the efficiency and cost competitiveness of its container ship business.
