Maspion to build 12 new ports in Indonesia

Diversified business group Maspion Group plans to build 12 new ports to serve logistics sea transportation needs, according to local media reports.It manufactures domestic products and is involved in other areas such as property, building materials and transport.
Maspion Group president director Alim Markus said the development of the ports had begun. "By 2014, we will have 16 ports in total and in 2015, we will start operating our container ports," Alim was quoted as saying.
He has previously complained that Indonesia lacks good infrastructure with all the country's ports congested which was slowing down businesses in every sector.
The group currently has four ports in Gresik, East Java.
