Kenyan port to put start RFID box tracking

2009-4-24

Kenya Revenue Authority plans to implement a new electronic tracking solution to monitor transit goods via the east coast port of Mombasa rather than issuing trucks with single permit licenses as originally planned.

Scheduled to be up and running by the end of the year, the Hi-G-Data seal system will use an RFID system from Hi-G-Tek to track container movements to land-locked hinterland countries such as Uganda and Rwanda.
