Chiwan Wharf Holdings builds logistics park in Tianjin

Shenzhen's Chiwan Wharf Holdings, the operator of port of the Chiwan Container Terminal, has invested CNY3.5 billion (US$471 million) a new logistics facility in Tianjin, Xinhua reported.

Construction of the facility, named Baowan International Logistics Park which covers a land area of 32 hectares and a floor area of 186,000 square metres, has recently started and is expected to be finished by the end of 2008.

The facility is said to be equipped with GPS and 24-hour surveillance system and IT work flow management system and will also provide warehousing, processing, transshipping and distribution once it becomes operational.
