Beijing plans to open fourth mega logistics hub
POSTED: 9:08 a.m. EDT, April 19,2007

Beijing has unveiled plans to build a number of new logistics facilities, reports Logistics Week.

The authorities in the capital of mainland China are already said to have begun the planning for a fourth mega logistics centre to be located in the eastern part of the city.

The new facility will be linked by expressway to Beijing airport and the port of Tianjin. The new logistics mega hub is scheduled to commence operations this year.

In addition, Beijing also aims to build 10 smaller logistics facilities off the city's trunk highways and 20 in the suburbs, the report added.
