In 2008 the ECT Delta terminals are extended with the Delta Barge Feeder terminal (DBF), a dedicated facility directly added to the deep sea quay. DBF not just boosts the capacity of the deep sea yard with almost 900 thousand TEU but also improves the planning and reliability of feeder operations, reports the press-service of the port of Rotterdam.
DBF will have a quay length of 800 m and a draught up to 11 m.
Also in 2008, the new EuroMax deep sea container terminal will come into operation. With its capacity of almost 2,5 mn TEU it will enable Rotterdam to accelerate the present annual growth level of some 8%. The automated terminal is able to handle vessels up with a draught up to 17 m (+15 thousand TEU).
