Singapore Minister, Adac Chairman Discuss Abu Dhabi Airport Expansion
POSTED: 2:22 p.m. EDT, January 22,2007

Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), and Goh Chok Tong, Senior Minister of Singapore, have met and discussed the redevelopment and expansion of Abu Dhabi Airport.

The Singapore minister's visit comes shortly after ADAC appointed Changi Airports International "CAI" to manage operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

CAI has a proven track record of operating and developing for the past 25 years, one of the most highly acclaimed and successful airports in the world.

Mazrouei expressed hope that the current visit of the Singaporean Senior Minister would further consolidate the relationship between ADAC and CAI.

Under the operations management agreement inked last December, CAI assumed management of operations in key areas of the Airport- including terminal and apron operations, airport emergency services, and customer services- for an 18-month term.

CAI will also be providing advisory services for airport planning of the Midfield Terminal Complex set to go online at the end of 2010.

ADAC is a public joint-stock company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi government. ADAC has officially taken over the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international airports, as of 28/09/2006. Under its mandate will be the re-development and expansion of the Abu Dhabi International Airport, which includes the new midfield terminal designed to increase the overall capacity of the airport to 20 million passengers by 2010.
