Hungarian government to reduce air traffic at night
POSTED: 1:08 p.m. EDT, October 23,2007

The Ministry of Economy and Transport is working on a draft decree seeking to reduce the noise pollution of Budapest's international airport at night.

The decree would reduce the current 57 outgoing and incoming flights between 2200 hours and 0600 hours to 40, which is likely to elicit protests by those working in air traffic and tourism.

Budapest Airport in February started its own noise-reduction programme in response to long-standing complaints by people living in residential areas around Ferihegy.
