POSTED: 11:00 a.m. EDT, November 21,2006

On November 21 Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin will take part in a ceremony marking the first dig of Logistics Park Sofia.

The facility will be located close to the capital, in the region of Krivina village, Bulgarian National Radio reported. Investment in the project is expected to reach 100 million leva.

Logistics Park Sofia will be part of Sofia's new industrial zone to be set up in the coming two or three years. It will be located between the Sofia exit points of Trakia and Hemus highways.

Among the facilities to be hosted in the park are trade areas, offices and storage areas. The first park area to start functioning will be ready in the summer of 2007 and will be a storage facility.

Apart from Kalfin, Regional Development Miniter Assen Gagauzov and Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov will attend the ceremony on November 21.
