Meridian IQ, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc., today said John Carr has been selected to fill the new position of president, Americas and Europe.

Carr, most recently president of global supply chain management at BAX Global, will be responsible for operations of all business units in these areas. He will be based in Meridian IQ’s corporate office in Overland Park and will report to Jim Ritchie, president and chief executive officer.

“John will be a tremendous asset to the Meridian IQ leadership team,” Ritchie said in a news release. “He comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the global logistics arena and we are pleased to welcome him to our organization.”

Prior to his tenure at BAX Global, Carr had executive management positions with Fritz Companies, Geologistics, Pandair and Behring International.

Meridian IQ, a global logistics management company, offers supply chain management, distribution management, transportation management and transportation services.

In early afternoon trading, shares of YRC Worldwide were up 21 cents at $40.82.
