Global provider of express delivery services, TNT Express, has achieved ISO 14001 certification, the internationally recognised quality standard for environmental management systems for its nationwide-network operations.
A company statement pointed out that the achievement makes the company the first global express delivery service provider in Malaysia to have obtained this certification.
ISO 14001 is the standard against which organisations are assessed and specifies the actual requirements for an environmental management system.
Gerry Power, managing director of TNT Malaysia & Brunei, said the certification reinforced the company's commitment to responsible environmental practices.
"At TNT our focus is not merely about providing a service to our customers but also about building a socially responsible culture that pervades every element of business. Our aim is to minimise environment impact of our activities and company-wide, we have successfully adopted a habit of considering our surrounding environment in all our business decisions."
The certification applies to TNT's international hub at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the National Operations Centre in Petaling Jaya, the two Global Express Centres in Penang and Johor Bahru, as well as its Malaysian headquarters in Petaling Jaya.
