Blues guitarist Jesse Robinson will be among the International Business Award honorees at the Mississippi World Trade Center's annual luncheon Thursday at the Country Club of Jackson.
The awards pay tribute to special achievements in international business leadership, education, arts and culture and membership recognition.
Robinson will receive the Global Arts & Culture Award for a lifetime of musical accomplishments and his recent work spreading Mississippi's music in Latin America.
Award winners also include: John-Richard CEO and board chairman Alex Malouf, receiving the 2013 Tozzoli International Business Leadership Award; Trustmark CEO and chairman Jerry Host, Crystal Globe Member of Distinction Award; University of Southern Mississippi geography professor and interim economic development and tourism chair Mark M. Miller, Excellence in International Education Award.
"Each award recipient has played a unique role in taking Mississippi's message to the world," Mississippi World Trade Center executive director Barbara Travis is quoted in a release.
