The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Konkan Railway apprehended 180 persons as per offences under various Railway Acts and imposed fines totalling INR 3.52 lakh in the first quarter of the present fiscal year.
A release here said that the amount was collected during raids in the last three months.
It also said the RPF seized 3,570 unclaimed illicit liquor bottles worth INR 1.08 lakh during the period.
The RPF apprehended 178 persons for anti-social activities, including trespassing, littering, creating nuisance, begging and drunkenness in railway premises and realized a total fine of INR 1.96 lakh in such cases.
The release said that 2 persons were held for stealing railway property from the yard here and were booked under the Railway Protection (Unlawful Possession) Act.
During the ticket checking campaign with the assistance of commercial staff, 93 persons were caught travelling ticketless and a fine of INR 47,338 was realized from them during the last three month period, the release said.
