JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction?
Hasan Elmadag : Our agency is known as Conturk Shipping and sometimes as Container Turk, in our local and international market. We are a Turkish shipping & freight forwarding agent located in Turkey, offering sea /air / land freight services and also warehousing / transit and many other services. Headquarter is in Istanbul, and we have representatives in main ports of Turkey. We don't aim to grow much bigger for the time being, however, we are thinking on the ways to evolve our services into better satisfaction levels and make it effective of course. Regarding our team, we are young, business minded and hard working. The most importantly, we are quite easy to reach anytime.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-compositeness as a young group?
Hasan Elmadag: Representing my company, Conturk Shipping, I can tell that we are mainly a solution oriented agency, which means we take each shipment as a case and try to produce the best options and the alternative ways to carry it. Another thing is that we don't keep the information related to the business away from the clients. On the contrary, we share it, openly and clearly. If one client or agent asks me a question, my reply will be very open and understandable. That is to say, we always tell what we can do or what we can't do. Also, our special service of transit to Afghanistan, North Iraq, Cyprus and Caucasian countries is a good advantage as well all along with our special container service support of flat rack, open top, platform and reefers.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about the logistic situation in your company?
Hasan Elmadag; Logistics is wide covering concept indeed, including warehousing, deliveries, supply chain management. In this regard, we also have a trading company and direct port service company which we also benefit from. Thus, we are involved in local pick up and local delivery as well. These are supporting our service in logistics, but surely, we must develop more and more. Regarding the transport solutions of logistics paradigm, we are good at it .
JCtrans: Would you please talk about some thing that gives you deep impression in this area?
Hasan Elmadag: Yes, in our country especially the shipments of import from other countries bring a high responsibility on freight agent. Also, the export shipment is under responsibility of agent as well but not that high risk. The shipper or the consignee must be in regular contact and any possible problem must be foreseen. Especially when the consignee decides to cancel their buying order, freight agent is locked up. So good coordination is inevitably necessary
JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistic forwarding company?
Hasan Elmadag: Good question. Some people say it is a powerful mind. Some people say it is all working hard. I say, having the right agent, right place, and right person in right position of your agency. And, fast decision making. It is eclectic indeed.
JCtrans: What will you do in your spare time?
Hasan Elmadag: I spend time in my garden, I love vegetable growing. And I like reading books, English literature as well as Turkish ones. And music of course. Music is indispensable part of me.I think if only we have good rest we could work harder and harder.
