Ho Chi Minh City wants to further invest in transportation
POSTED: 11:14 a.m. EDT, January 15,2007

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has called for investment into two metros and 2 monorails reports VietNamNet Bridge, a Vietnamese news source.

The 10.5 mile metro line would run from Sai Gon Bridge to Can Guoc. A second line, 3.7 miles long, would connect and Phu Lam crossroad. The two monorails would run a total length of almost 22 miles.

The department estimates that $40 million USD is needed for every .6 mile of underground metro, $20 million USD for every .6 mile of above-land metro, and about $7 million USD for every .6 mile of monorail.
