ProLogis Japan to acquire eight distribution centers in Japan

ProLogis, owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, announced that ProLogis Japan Properties Fund II will acquire eight distribution centers in Japan in a transaction with cosmetics manufacturer Shiseido and Hitachi Transport, one of Japan¡¯s third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

Hitachi Transport and ProLogis signed agreements to acquire Shiseido¡¯s internally owned and managed distribution business. Hitachi will acquire Shiseido¡¯s logistics subsidiary and will provide supply chain management services to the company throughout Japan. ProLogis Japan Properties Fund II will purchase Shiseido¡¯s distribution centers, which will be leased to Hitachi¡¯s subsidiary under long-term agreements.

The eight distribution centers total 1.7 million square feet and are located in Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, and other locations across Japan. The total price of the buildings will be approximately US$136 million.
