Xu Peixing, director of Shanghai Municipal Port Administration Bureau has recently announced that the 24th IAPH World Port Conference will be held in Shanghai from May 21 to 27 this year. This is the first time that the IAPH world port conference will be held in China.

Spearheaded by the International Port Association, the bi-annual World Port Conference is attended by representatives from port companies, marine transport corporations, trading firms and manufacturing enterprises from around the world.

The 24th World Port Conference is the first such meeting to be held in China and creates a good opportunity for domestic ports to present themselves to the world. It is expected that over 1000 representatives from more than 80 countries on the five continents will take part in the conference.
